iTaekwondoL is the Lite version of the reference application iTaekwondo, designed to assist students learning the martial art of Taekwondo (Tae Kwon Do). The material in iTaekwondoL is based on the World Taekwondo Federation style. All demonstrations in iTaekwondoL are performed by David Vernon, Kukkiwon recognised 4th Dan Black Belt. iTaekwondoL focuses on the following aspects of this martial art:
-Patterns (or Poomsae)
-Terminology
-Self defence

PATTERNS / POOMSAE:
The first three Taeguk patterns are presented in iTaekwondoL. Details of the number of moves, meaning, belt level and videos are available for these patterns. Step by step view of these patterns with the blocks, strikes, punches, kicks and stances described in both English and Korean.

The step by step view has an animated arrow showing the position and facing direction within the pattern for each step.

Pattern maps are available by rotating to landscape from the step-by-step view for each pattern.

TERMINOLOGY:
Terminology is supplied for four different Taekwondo categories (general, numbers, body parts, and directions) with the ability to translate all or individual terms within that category. English terms are displayed in black and Korean terms in red. Audio of each term pronounced in Korean can be played.

Audio of each term pronounced in Korean as spoken by a native Korean can be played.

The full version of the app has over 150 terms in it.

SELF DEFENCE:
Set self defence movements are provided based on the various belt levels. A description of the self defence movement and a video are available to assist in learning the self defence. iTaekwondoL provides five different
